APM Terminals commenced operations in Nigeria in March, 2006. Apapa is Nigeria's largest port and contains a number of wharfs. To date, the staff comprises over 700 highly skilled and motivated foreign and local staff.

HSE Officer Ref: 45843
The Position: Health Safety and Environment Officer
Under general guidance of the HSE Assistant Manager/Supervisor, this position is responsible for the routine delivery of all policies, practices, and operations for the HSE functions within APMT Apapa.

Principal Accountabilities:
• The following general accountabilities are also specific to APM Terminals Apapa Ltd:
• Ensure that APMT Apapa HSE policy and procedures are observed as well as all relevant safety legislation and the provisions of the relevant Government of Nigeria HSE Acts.
• Assists in the development and delivery of the company’s HSE functions, implementing policies, procedures and systems to provide for a HSE business operation.
• Maintains up-to-date information and knowledge on new developments in the area of HSE and Loss Prevention.
• Represents the HSE department within the port related to HSE in order to ensure a mutual understanding of the Company’s goals and requirements, and to work in a co-operative partnership with local resources.
• Reports all HSE incidents and assists the HSE Supervisor to identify accident causes and hazards to health for use by company personnel and outside agencies.
• Assists in the investigation of accidents and injuries and cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence for organisation in hearings, lawsuits and insurance investigations. Compiles and submits accident reports required by the HSE department. Maintains safety files and records.

Critical Requirements/Skills:
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
• Must be a graduate from a recognized institution.
• Member of professional HSE body will be a plus.
• Not less than 3 years experience in HSE role from a recognized organization.
• Must be alert and vigilant.
• Physically fit.
• Mature attitude.
• Flexible approach to work.

Security Administrative Officer: Ref: 45822
The Position: Security Administrative Officer
• This position is responsible for performance of all administrative functions within the security department, Safeguard of all security information and materials within APMTAL

Principal Accountabilities:
• Running the security admin office.
• Issuance of radio, ID cards, documenting same and retrieval of same from all staff.
• Safe-keeping of all security documents for the entire department.
• Issuance of passes, badges and disk for short time visitors, contractors and others, and documentation.
• Retrieval of ID-cards and other security documents from dismissed or suspended Staff and documentation.
• Liaison with service providers for any repair work of security interest.
• Preparation and submission of payment vouchers for service provider.
• Issuance of security material to outsourced security in line with company contract agreement.
• Maintenance of service providers’ office accommodation.
• Courier duties (dispatch of mails within and outside APMT terminals).
• Collation of all information relating to administration of security department.
• Any other duties as may be assigned by the superior from time to time.

Critical Requirements/Skills:
Degree in security or related discipline and membership of a professional security body
• 3-5 years proven industrial experience in a large/mid-level organization.
• Conversant with the International code for the security of ships and port facilities (ISPS code).
• Knowledge of security standards, including crime scene investigations, co-ordination of activities with local law enforcement, and general property protection
• Ex- military/paramilitary experience is an advantage
• Investigation / Report writing skills
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Good decision-making and problem solving skills
• Valid Driver’s License
• Good knowledge of Microsoft (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) etc.
• Smart appearance, articulate and ‘customer focused’.
• Physically fit
• Mature attitude
• Flexible approach to work

Security Officer ( Investigations): Ref: 45823
The Position: Security Officer (Investigations)
Under general guidance of the Security Supervisor, this position is responsible for the implementation all policies, practices, and operations for the Security functions within APMTAL

Principal Accountabilities:
• Assist the supervisor in conduct of background checks on some categories of staff being considered for employment in conjunction with Human Resources.
• Conduct continuous vetting and re-vetting of all staff in sensitive positions
• Conduct investigating of all breeches of security within the concession areas and expatriates residences
• Conduct in investigating all cases of container and attempted container flights
• Auditing of all outsource security operating in all Area of Responsibility (AOR)
• Liaise with Police and other security agencies in all matter of security activities
• Ensure timely completion and reporting of investigation by police
• Implementation of Company Wide Investigation Policy and Procedures
• In-house training of outsourced security on company investigation procedures
• Investigation of all breeches as it concerns all contractors operating within the terminal
• Assist with investigative request from police and other government forces
• Maintenance of Database on threat information and risk analysis
• Perform any security functions or duties as specified by the appropriate authority.
