Managers (AAM)
As Audit Manager our Audit & Assurance Unit, you will work with a wide range of clients and your role will include managing audit assignments and working with a team on an audit assignment or providing compliance and advisory services to listed companies as well as large, medium and small privately owned concerns, non-governmental organisations and public sector entities.
Responsibilities
• Undertaking work at our offices or clients’ premises and liaising with clients at the highest level.
• Supervising and coaching junior members of staff to help them realise their full potential.
• Good knowledge of Nigerian & International Standards on Auditing, Statements of Accounting Standards issued by NASB, International Financial Reporting Standards and International Accounting Standards.
• Keeping senior managers and partners up to date with the progress of your team.
• Preparing key documents and presenting to clients.
• Keeping up to date with the Firm’s product and service offerings, identifying and pursuing opportunities that will help us grow our advisory work.
• Actively engage in the planning of the audit, as well as the actual fieldwork and completion work.
• Taking personal responsibility and accountability for work performed.
• Working in a cooperative, respectful manner with colleagues and clients.
• Other special responsibilities that may arise in the course of the firm’s development strategy
Qualification and Experience
The ideal candidates will have ICAN ACA, ACCA or other similar qualification, with a commercial and analytical mind and have very strong written and spoken English skills. Must be familiar with automated information systems and have at least five years previous audit experience in a reputable firm.
Seniors (AAS)
As Audit Senior you will be expected to demonstrate an ability to assume full responsibility for directing audit engagements and other special assignments, ability to review work papers and financial statements, ability to prepare minutes of meetings and reports for discussion with clients, ability to direct audit assistants and audit trainees.
Responsibilities
• Actively engaged in the planning of the audit, as well as the actual fieldwork and completion work.
• Coordinates the various phases of an engagement with the manager or partner, including staff requirements and job planning.
• Working in a cooperative, respectful manner with colleagues and clients.
• Keeping managers, senior managers and partners up to date with the progress of your team.
• Prepare the audit program and time budget for approval by the manager and subsequently the partner.
• Other special responsibilities that may arise in the course of the firm’s development strategy.
Qualification and Experience
The ideal candidates will have ICAN ACA, ACCA or other similar qualification, with a commercial and analytical mind and have very strong written and spoken English skills. Must be familiar with automated information systems and have at least three years previous audit experience in a reputable firm.
Assistants and Trainees (AAAT)
As Audit Assistant you are expected to provide an efficient service during conducted audits. To team up with other seniors and managers to help the firm operate at the highest level of quality and integrity and to take responsibility for your personal growth.
Responsibilities
• Assisting Seniors and Managers on assignments with a variety of public and private sector clients.
• Reconcile bank accounts and trace discrepancies.
• Reconcile subsidiary accounts to controls.
• Prepare schedules of write offs of prepaid expenses and give the basis for accruals.
• Trace and vouch entries to original documents or sources.
• Other special responsibilities that may arise in the course of the firm’s development strategy
Qualification and Experience
The ideal candidates must be graduates with excellent academic pedigree with a commercial and analytical mind and have very strong written and spoken English skills. Must be familiar with automated information systems such as Microsoft Office tools. Possession of ICAN, ACA, ACCA or equivalents, or proven progress at any stage of the aforementioned professional qualifications will be an added advantage.
