Assistant Accountant - West Africa Regional Office, Lagos
Provide technical accounting support to the Assistant Director Finance & Accounts (ADFA) and the underwriting team as well as assistance and relief to designated ADFAs in their absence.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership in the detail verification, processing, confirmation and processing of technical statements; credit control and management of balances due to/from cedants and brokers; keep proper records and files on assigned cedants and brokers;
- Supervise the technical accounting staff in the review, verification, processing and confirmation of technical statements received from cedants and brokers - covering premium closings and slips together with their related transactions (commission,brokerage, profit commission, etc.), periodic (mainly quarrerly) statements of account, excess of loss premiums - and handling the same responsibilities for assigned cedants
- Review and control the reinsurance debtors’ ledger for accuracy and collectibles and generally managing the credit control function to ensure outstanding balances are collected within their agreed terms. Oversee the maintenance of the reinsurance debtor balances by technical account staff and drive the collection process by Underwriters and the ADFA
- Assisting the Underwriting team and the ADFA in the management of the relationship with cedants and brokers, especially in the timely rendition of account statements and the collection of outstanding balances . Any other duties as may be assigned by management
- Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant disciplines with at least 10 years post Qualification relevant work experience or Masters degree or full professional qualification plus 6 years post qualification relevant work experience
- Membership of relevant professional bodies and Bilingualism (English/French) would be a added advantage
English-Speaking Interpreter /Translator - Head Office
Responsibilities
Provide interpretation services from French to English during statutory meetings or request from partners or sister organizations;
Translate corporate documents from French to English Language;
Carry out any other duty that may be assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Languages with at least 10 years post qualification relevant work experience or Masters degree or full professional qualification in Interpretation and Translation plus 6 years relevant work experience;
- Membership of relevant professional bodies would be a added advantage
- Be computer literate.

- At Least 30 years and at most 40 years old
Senior Accounting Clerk. West Africa Regional Office, Lagos
To assist in maintaining, preparing and ensuring proper records keeping of financial accounts and statements.
Responsibilities
- Documentation of receipts and payments in currencies other than Naira and processing in the Cashbooks.
- Update of foreign investment accounts.
- Bank reconciliation
- Response to inquiries in respect of receipts or payments.
- Weekly Cash/Bank Balances report, Liquidity report, Inter office account etc.
- Any other duties as may be assigned by the Regional Office Management from time to time.
- 3 papers at ‘A’ level in relevant subjects or equivalent plus 5 years relevant work experience
- Membership of relevant professional bodies and Bilingualism (English/French) would be an added advantage
- Applicants must be at least 25 and not more than 40 years old
