Star Deep Water Petroleum Limited Scholarship for Undergraduates 2009

Star Deep Water Petroleum Limited, a Chevron company and operator of the
Agbami Field, in its continous support for capacity building in health cre delivery manpwoer in selected states and as a strategic feed into the national manpower pool, is offering a number of University Scholarship Awards to qualified Nigerian students who are indigenes of Bayelsa, Rivers, Delta, Ondo and Lagos states.

The scholariship program, funded by Star Deep Water Petroleum Limited and its Agbami partners, is a major component of the Corporate Responsibilty contribution of the company to the strategic development of health and education in Nigeria and the Niger Delta in Particular

ELIGIBILITY
Applications are invited from full-time, 100 and 200 level students from any of the above states, studying any of the under listed courses in Universities or any other relevant institutions within or outside Nigeria.

Medicine/Dentistry
Nursing/Midwifery
Laboratory Sciences/Technology
Engineering (any field)

Eligible candidates shall have Grade Points (GPs) not less than 3.0 on a scale of 5 and for 100 level candidates, shall have scored not less than 240 in the previous University Martriculation Examination or 60% in the relevant admission examinations.

Company shall administer a test to select the most successful candidates from the recommended number.

Applicants shall provide the following information in addition to what is required on the application forms:

1. Letter of admission into the institution/or a letter from the Department of study affirming his/her status.
2. 2 passport photographs
3. Statement of result of last academic session (for 200 level applicants) or UME or other admission examination result as may be relevant for (100 level applicants)
4. Valid email address and telephone number.
Qualification Process

CONDITIONS
An existing beneficary shall drop out of the program if his/her GP drops below 3.0 on scale of 5 or 60% aggregate score annually. (This excludes Medical and dental students in clinical years)

Completed form with all required attachements should be submitted to the various Scholarship board offices not later tahn Friday, March 20, 2009. Scanned copies of completed forms may also be mailed to the various email addresses published above.
