Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for post of CHIEF MEDICAL DIRECTOR of University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital.


History of University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital
• The University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital belongs to the second generation of Teaching Hospital in the Country. The Hospital came into existence all 2nd of May, 1980
• Its vision is to offer the best quality care commensurate with an International standard using an array of specialized medical manpower and excellent technology that is accessible and affordable to all irrespective of age, race, religion or social standing.
• Its mission is to create a coordinated health care team through the provision of optimum health care services, training research.
• University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital is presently governed in accordance with Decree 10 of 1985, now referred to as Cap 463.

The Job:
• The Chief Medical Director is the Chief Medical Officer, Administrative and Accounting Officer of the Hospital.
• He is charged with the responsibility for the execution of the policies and matters affecting the day-to-day management of the affairs of the Hospital.
• He has power to exercise general authority over both Staff and Resident doctors.
• He is also responsible for discipline in the Hospital, subject to the general control of the Board of Management.

Qualities and Qualifications
The Candidate for the post of Chief Medical Director is expected to possess the following academic qualifications and personal qualities:
• Be a Medical Doctor who is Medically fit
• Have Post Graduate qualification duly registered with the Medical and Dental
• Have been a consultant for at least five (5) years
• Be of proven good character
• Not be more than 55 years of age
• Any Management qualification will be an added advantage

Remuneration & Condition of Service:
The salary is consolidated and the appointee shall enjoy other benefits of office as may be approved from time to time by the Federal Government of Nigeria,

N. A Statement of his/her own vision for the Hospital in the 21st Century
O. Other activities outside current employment
P. Names and addresses of three (3) Referees (Employer, Educational and Personal) who are to forward confidential reports on them directly to the Director of Administration and Secretary to the Board. Such referees should be able to to attest to the candidates as well as their notable uprightness.
Q. Applicants must be ready to support every claim with documentary evidence (where required) and bring the originals of all their credentials if invited for interview.
